Hillside Raised Bed

This raised bed required a trip to the customer's site to scope out the work. It was more than just a raised bed, we had to demolish the existing bed and build an exact match so we could replace the old bed without ruining her plants - already well into growing seaon. It was also recessed into a hillside, which added a uniquit (and beautiful trist) to our project.

Size: The bed was 10'x5'x18... sort of. We had to take some very precise measures to ensure it would fit, just trust we were down to ¼" measurements!

Construction: Like all our beds, this one started with 2" thick western red cedar and included our lap joints, tons of screws and a top cap. The customer did want an exterior stain - she wanted it to turn grey. But we did treat the interior with our food safe sealer, an also the buried portions of the exterior to maximize it's life.

Delivery & Installation: This was a 3 person half-day job that required a ton of digging and very careful placement. I'm super proud of my crew and their work - they were fistidous about getting it right. And it was worth it, the customer was delighted.
